Why We Exist

Everyone counts!

Kindness to animals

Our Georgia State Constitution gives the power to pick up stray animals to counties and municipalities to protect the citizens from the dangers and nuisances that are associated with free roaming and diseased animals.

Under the Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control, it states, “stray dogs, cats and ferrets should be removed from the community.”

Approximately 30% of Georgia counties do not have animal shelters. Issues are reported to the county commissioners, sheriff’s department, or local veterinarians.

Animal shelters are very important. When stray animals go through an animal shelter the citizens have an opportunity to reclaim their animal if it is impounded by providing a single entity that holds such animals and is legally designated.

Please support our efforts to establish an Animal Shelter in Brantley County.

Make a difference today

Like humans, animals can adapt to even the most adverse surroundings. Unfortunately, when animals experience traumatizing abuses, they can also learn to withdraw from all social interaction.

All of us can make a difference for animals in our everyday lives, whether it's by adopting a pet or engaging your community in animal protection issues.
